What is Supported Music Teaching?

Supported Music Teaching is delivered by a Registered Music Therapist with experience in disability and developmental differences. Lessons are tailored to create a supportive, inclusive environment where children can build musical skills while having fun.

We provide children of all abilities the opportunity to learn music in a way that suits their unique strengths, needs, and learning styles - making music accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable for everyone.

  • We offer lessons on a variety of instruments, including keyboard, guitar, ukulele, percussion.

Foundational concepts such as melody, rhythm, and tempo are introduced through games and interactive activities, making learning playful and supportive.

Teaching is tailored to each child’s developmental level, using adapted music sheets, visual prompts, colour coding, and hands-on guidance. This ensures lessons are accessible, engaging, and suited to the individual needs of every learner.

  • Our sessions focus on fun, connection, and meaningful learning - not just exams or grades.

Children learn functional music skills like playing familiar songs, enjoying music-making, and engaging with music in ways that are relevant and rewarding.
